An intimate DIY St Albans wedding with a snow shower
Back in January, I photographed this gorgeous intimate DIY St Albans wedding for the lovely Beka and Salih. I went to university with Beka so I was absolutely delighted when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. They had originally planned to get married in the summer, but they are expecting their first child who is due in May, so they decided to bring their wedding forward. They had their families and closest friends be a part of their day, with their wedding ceremony held at St Albans Registry Office, followed by their wedding reception at Lussmanns Restaurant.
Beka had arranged everything. She made the clay hearts for the table place names, the decorations, the flowers and even the wedding cake which was a naked cake covered in strawberries. She wore a gorgeous floral crown made up of gypsophila or baby’s breath, which were also their flowers for their centrepieces and decorations for their reception and Beka’s bouquet. The DIY wedding decorations and details were simple but gorgeous. We did their portraits around the grounds by St Albans Cathedral. We were also able to do some portraits in the snow which hit us just after they were married. It was short and sweet, but I am happy we were able to get some in it.
It was such a beautiful wedding, I loved being a part of it, and I cannot wait to meet their little man when he is born in a couple of months time. Congratulations Beka and Salih! Here are some of my favourites from this DIY St Albans wedding.
