A family portrait shoot in Whippendell Woods in Watford, Hertfordshire
I wanted to share some of my favourite photographs taken at this family portrait shoot I did with Clare, Simon and Skye. I first met Clare when I took my son to Baby Sensory. She runs classes in Watford and Hemel Hempstead for babies up to the age of 13 months. When I had to stop taking Myles to the classes as he was too old, Clare asked if I could photograph the special events she holds, which are always so much fun, getting to come along and photograph the babies all dressed up and seeing how curious they are as their senses are stimulated and as they grow throughout the year. I highly recommend these classes if you have a young baby!
So I had the opportunity to photograph Clare, her husband and their daughter for a little family portrait shoot. We went to Whippendell Woods which was full of bluebells at the time. Skye was absolutely adorable, and she had such wonderful facial expressions. She came across dogs and horses in the woods, but didn’t come across any bears as she sang ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’. I love family shoots that are just laid back, giving the family space to be themselves, spend time together and have fun.
