A bit of a different engagement shoot. This couple had a bed and breakfast at home engagement shoot. An awesome idea right?
Happy Bank Holiday Monday/Easter Monday! I hope you have had a fab weekend!
Tomorrow is the big day for Natalie and Alex. I am so excited to photograph their wedding at Notley Abbey by Bijou. So today I am sharing their at home engagement shoot we did a couple of months ago. You may have seen previews to these if you have liked my Facebook page. They both really wanted to do their shoot at their home in Watford, Hertfordshire, and it was just so much fun to do. The two prepared breakfast together, cuddled up and had a laugh. They have such great personalities and a wonderful chemistry between them, I can just tell their wedding day will be just as fun as they are.
Usually engagement shoots are done on location, typically somewhere outdoorsy with lots of scenery or somewhere in the city with bold colours and architecture, so it was awesome to be able to do something a little bit different. We talked through ideas and what we could do, but generally it boiled down to just documenting a typical morning for the two of them at the weekend. What could be better?
Engagement shoots are all about getting you use to the camera before your wedding day, but also bringing your personalities across. If you want to just hang around with each other and have fun together because that’s what your relationship is to you, then doing something simple like this is just as perfect as going out to somewhere cool or beautiful. It also helps if you have big windows that let in lots of natural light.
Make sure you like my Facebook page to be able to view their sneak peek from their wedding later this week, and Natalie and Alex, I shall see you tomorrow!
Lovely idea! The intimacy between them in their own environment is so precious – beautiful connection between them, and you’ve captured it perfectly!
Beautiful! I love doing these too, it makes you feel part of their life for a tiny bit. It’s very pretty ♥
