An Evening Engagement Shoot in Watford

Tomorrow is the day Ben and Beth become husband and wife at Monkton Barn in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

I first met them at the Watford Wedding Show I exhibited at back in 2014. They wanted natural wedding photography, lots of candids and few formal photos. Music to my ears.

We went to Cassiobury Park in Watford, Hertfordshire one evening for their engagement shoot. The light was just beautiful and it was a lovely time of year where the park was just full of greenery and pretty.

Beth and Ben had told me they were super nervous about having their photos taken. And I don’t blame them. Engagement shoots tend to be the first time a couple are in front of a camera together, hugging and being close, and it can feel really awkward and you’re more than likely going to get the giggles to begin with.

My approach is to totally try and make you feel at ease, lighten the situation, and shoot you at your best, and so though they didn’t feel particularly comfortable to begin with, we were able to get some awesome photos and by the end of the shoot, Beth and Ben were a lot more relaxed than they had been at the start.
